Zumba, the popular dance workout, has got a new twist with a special version for pregnant women and new mums. Our class is an adaptation of the Zumba Gold workout and has been devised by Oxford Brookes researchers and lecturers, Dr Lesley Smith and Dr Ethel Burns, and Zumba instructor George Martini.
Classes start with a gentle warm up, gradually building to more energetic dances with up-tempo music, the class slows down and is completed with some gentle stretching. An experienced midwife takes part in every class and will make sure you don’t overdo it!
Club bump takes place after the class where you can relax and chat with friends and ask a midwife about whatever is concerning you. Different topics are discussed each week to help you prepare for pregnancy, birth and parenting.
